We decided to postpone the exhibitions and the parallel conferences, to October 18-20, 2021, on account of the increasing spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) worldwide and in response to recommendations from the Brazilian federal government as well as the Sao Paulo state government. The health of the exhibitors, visitors and employees as well as the general public is our top priority. The smarter E South America is a large international event which welcomes around 380 exhibitors from 40 countries and 28,000 visitors from over 12 countries. Under the prevailing circumstances, it would be impossible to organize and host such an international exhibition without critical complications.
Currently, we are working on the assumption that it will be possible to hold The smarter E South America from October 18-20, 2021, in compliance with the required protective health measures.
It is too early to say with any confidence exactly which protective measures will be taken for the event in October 2021; we kindly ask for your understanding and patience.
Together with Expo Center Norte, we are working on a health and safety concept, which enables all participants a secure participation in the exhibition, even in times of Corona.
As the COVID-19 pandemic is constantly evolving, it can be expected that this plan will undergo changes before October 2021. We will make sure to provide our exhibitors and visitors with regular updates.
Over 85 percent of the exhibition space at The smarter E South America 2021 has already been booked. We are confident that, just as in previous years, we will be able to offer trade visitors to this event an exciting program with a wide range of innovations.
Since the middle of 2020, we have been offering a wider range of digital formats such as podcasts, webinars, virtual award ceremonies and online conferences, as the Intersolar South America Digital Xperience, to supplement our usual program of live events. We will continue improving and expanding our digital presence for 2021. As an exhibitor, you will benefit from these new formats by being able to reach people who are unable to attend the event in person.
It is currently permitted to enter Brazil by airway travel. We are planning a raft of measures to supplement our protective measures so that all attendees can enjoy the event safely. We will integrate these measures into our visitor communication.
Based on the size of the venue and the regulations currently in force (as of October 2020), we do not expect to have to impose any significant limitations on visitor numbers.
Currently, there are no regulations preventing exhibition attendees from traveling to Brazil from other countries.
Exhibitors and visitors are required to familiarize themselves in detail with the applicable regulations on entry to Brazil and exit from their country of origin in good time before traveling. The organizers of The smarter E South America do not accept any responsibility for any negative consequences suffered by customers as a result of the prevailing laws and regulations on entering and staying in Brazil.
Unfortunately, we cannot make any exception to the payment deadline. An invoice for the booth rental fee will be issued once the booth has been assigned.
This invoice confirms the exact booth size and is due for payment immediately.
There will be no special cancellation policy for The smarter E South America 2021. You can find the applicable cancellation terms in our general terms and conditions.
Should we have to cancel The smarter E South America 2021 due to a new ban on exhibitions and similar events introduced to curb the coronavirus pandemic – which we do not currently expect to be the case – we will no longer require payment of the fees charged for participation in the event. However, this will not apply to services which we have already provided before the cancellation of the event. We reserve the right to charge a flat-rate fee for these services.
