Hélio Eiji Sueta-is an electrical engineer with a master's degree in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (EPUSP). He is currently a researcher in the Scientific Division of Energy Planning, Analysis, and Development at the Institute of Energy and Environment (IEE-USP) of the University of São Paulo. He served as Head of the High-Current Technical Section at IEE-USP from 1991 to 2001 and as Director of the Power Division from 2001 to 2011. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on the protection of structures against lightning strikes. He currently serves on standardization committees as secretary of CE 64.10 (Protection of Structures against Atmospheric Discharges) and is a Brazilian member of IEC TC 81-Protection against Atmospheric Discharges. He has participated in more than 100 national and international symposia, primarily in the field of lightning, and has published more than 300 technical articles in journals, symposium proceedings, and interviews.
