Dr. Márcio Bottaro has been a laboratory specialist at the Institute of Energy and Environment at the University of São Paulo (IEE-USP) for 28 years, participating in laboratory accreditation processes in Brazil and worldwide. PhD in Nuclear Technology from USP, he coordinated the elaboration, execution and accreditation of the first laboratory in the southern hemisphere for testing PPE for electric arc (LEVe-IEE-USP). He is supervisor of the Technical Service for Safety and Performance of Electrical Equipment and Materials at IEE-USP, researcher associated with LEVe-IEE-USP, coordinator of the Commission on Protective Clothing - Thermal Risks - Heat and Flames, in CB 32 of ABNT, and specialist in IEC/TC78 in the WG of protection against electric arc, in the themes of clothing, protection of hands, head and face, and general requirements for the manufacture, selection and use of PPE.

Cláudio Sérgio Mardegan is director of EngePower and graduated from EFEI (1980), has more than four decades of experience in Protection and System Analysis. He is the author of the book "Protection and Selectivity in Industrial Electrical Systems" and a renowned speaker at CINASE. Recognized in academic and technical circles, he is a senior member of IEEE, a member of Cigrè, and holds important positions in IEEE, including chair of Chapter 13 of IEEE Std 3004 and vice-chair of Surge Protection. He actively participates in several IEEE Working Groups and is co-author of the ABNT Standards Guide for the Electricity Sector. As an instructor, he has taught more than 130 editions of protection training and conducted more than 5000 studies in his area, consolidating his expertise in Substations, Harmonics, Grounding, among other relevant topics.
